CDAC offers a wide range of enrichment programmes for Children, Youth, Families, and Seniors to learn. These programmes aim to enhance the skills and knowledge of our beneficiaries across different age groups, fostering varied learning experiences and holistic development.
Children and Youth
Community Chinese Reading Project

The Community Chinese Reading Project aims to cultivate the love of Chinese reading among Primary 1 to 4 children through storytelling. Post-reading activities such as Arts and crafts and role-play are also introduced to motivate them and enhance their reading experience.
kidsREAD
-
kidsREAD is a nationwide English reading programme. CDAC has been collaborating with the National Library Board to conduct the programme since 2004. It is a volunteer-driven programme which promotes the love of reading and cultivates good reading habits among all young Singaporeans, in particular children from low-income families.
Play-Based Learning Programme
(K1 β K2)

The Play-Based Programme provides holistic help to families under the CDAC Family Assistance Programme by building and strengthening preschool childrenβs self-expression, self-control, confidence, communication and socialisation skills through play, in turn facilitating their transition to primary school.
Volunteers facilitate play-based activities and support the childrenβs learning during weekly sessions.
Families are supported through talks and workshops on parenting, healthy living and financial management & literacy. Family bonding activities are also organised to foster family cohesiveness and strengthen the parent-child relationship.
Interest-Based & Holiday Programmes

We offer Interest-Based Programmes like Arts & Craft, Speech & Drama and Music to engage children in activities and learning experiences that are aligned with their interests and passions.

Seniors
Information Technology Courses

Held at CDAC Centres, the programme aims to promote IT knowledge and skills amongst our seniors. The courses include using the internet, using the Chinese handwriting input method, utilising social media platforms like Facebook, handling online transactions and digital image processing, etc.

Information Sharing Session

Held in our CDAC centres and other shared community spaces, these big-scale information-sharing sessions keep seniors abreast of national schemes and topics that are relevant to them. Topics include the Lasting Power of Attorney, Advanced Care Planning and Will Writing, in Mandarin and dialects.

Intergenerational Learning and Interaction

Workshops and events are designed to allow younger individuals to gain insights into the experiences of the older generation, fostering respect and empathy for them. At the same time, these initiatives provide an opportunity for seniors to understand the perspectives of the younger generation, bridging generation gaps and promoting mental well-being.

News Sharing & Senior Learning Kiosk

Conducted by volunteers in Mandarin, this programme keeps seniors (aged 50 or above) updated on current affairs and empowers them with knowledge and exposure to a wide range of topics. The sharing is based on news websites, social media postings and newspapers.
