Application of Privacy Policy

This Policy is based on the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) and all associated regulations and guidelines as may from time to time be issued by the Personal Data Protection Commission (“PDPC”).

 

 Collection of Personal Data

  • To provide you with our services (e.g., tuition, enrichment programmes, skills training, financial assistance, family programme, volunteer engagement and etc), you may be requested to provide personal data including, but not limited to your name, contact details, NRIC number, mailing address, email address, date of birth, and any other information which you have provided in any physical/electronic forms you may have submitted to us, or in other modes of interaction with you.

  • We will notify you the purpose and seek confirmation from you on your explicit consent for us to collect, use and/or disclose your personal data. We will not collect more personal data than required for the stated purpose. We will seek your separate consent if the original purpose for collection, use and/disclosure of such data has changed.

Use of Personal Data

The uses of personal data include provision of educational, financial, and family assistance, meeting administrative, legal, audit, reporting requirements, data analysis, research, formulating and reviewing of relevant social assistance policies. If we wish to use, disclose or process your personal data for any other purpose, we will seek your fresh consent beforehand.

  

Disclosure of Personal Data

All personal data held by CDAC will be kept confidential. However, CDAC may provide such information third party service providers if deemed necessary to fulfil aforementioned purposes or a directly related purpose. Under most circumstances, CDAC does not transfer your personal data overseas. However, if there is any need to transfer personal data outside of Singapore, it will be processed only in accordance with the transfer limitation obligation of the PDPA and any other applicable law.

Withdrawal of Consent

If you wish to withdraw your consent at any time, you should give us reasonable advance notice in writing of at least 10 working days. The withdrawal of your consent may result in us not being able to provide services to you such as informing you of future events or the launch of programmes or services.

 

Access and Correction of Personal Data

If you wish to access or change any personal data, please note that we may need to verify your identity by checking your NRIC or other legal identification documents before we can accede to your request. We will respond to your request within 30 calendar days from the date we receive your request. If we are unable to do so within 30 days, we will give you an estimate of how much longer we require. We may charge you a reasonable fee for the cost involved in processing your access request. If you find that the personal data we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or not updated, you may request for us to correct it. Where we are satisfied on reasonable grounds that a correction should be made, we will correct the data as soon as possible, or within 30 days from the date we receive your request.

Accuracy of Personal Data

CDAC takes reasonable measures to keep your personal data accurate, up-to-date and complete. If you are in an ongoing relationship with us, it is important that you update us of any changes to your personal data (e.g. a change in your mailing address or email address).

 

Protection of Personal Data

CDAC takes reasonable measures to protect your Personal Data against theft, loss, as well as unauthorised access, copy, use, modification, and disclosure. We have implemented appropriate information security and technical measures (e.g. data encryption, firewalls and secure network protocols) to protect your personal data. We have reasonable and appropriate organisational measures to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of your personal data, and will only share your personal data with authorised persons on a ‘need to know’ basis.

 

Retention of Personal Data

CDAC will retain your personal data for as long as the purpose(s) for which it is collected and/or an organisational need exists. We have a data retention policy that monitors retention schedules of the personal data you have provided us in physical/electronic forms. We will not retain any of your personal data when it is no longer needed for our business or legal purposes. We will dispose or destroy such documents containing your personal data securely when the retention limit is reached.
