Ready For School 2024
1 December 2024 marked CDAC’s 21st year of organising the “Ready for School” event for our beneficiaries. This year, 4,000 beneficiaries from close to 1,400 families joined the carnival held at Nanyang Junior College, and 600 volunteers, partners, and sponsors supported the event.
Every year, in addition to helping our beneficiaries prepare for the next academic year, we also have fun activities for family bonding! From making sky lanterns to driving on an F1 simulator and batik painting, our parents and their children participated in the activities together and created precious memories.
A big thank you to our Guest of Honour, Mrs Josephine Teo (Minister for Digital Development and Information and Second Minister for Home Affairs), for gracing this year’s Ready for School. Also, thank you to the various volunteers and partners for your invaluable support in making the event a success!
CDAC@ Bukit Panjang Open House
The newly renovated CDAC@ Bukit Panjang was buzzing with excitement on 16 Nov as crowds gathered for its vibrant Open House! Guests of all ages enjoyed fun-filled activities, collecting stamps to exchange for rewards and exploring our new Tinkering Space. Our Guest of Honour, Mr Liang Eng Hwa, toured the newly renovated Centre and participated in various activities. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made this day unforgettable!
Joint Youth Dialogue
108 youths joined us for the 2nd Joint Youth Dialogue organised by the 4 Self-help groups: Chinese Development Assistance Council, Singapore Indian Development Association, The Eurasian Association, Singapore and MENDAKI Singapore at the Asian Civilisation Museum on 19 October 2024 (Saturday). Our youths engaged with one another on a wide range of topics, from social mobility, social cohesion and the role of SHGs in supporting the youth.
