On 19 August, the CDAC held its Character & Learning Awards Ceremony (formerly known as the Tuition Programme Awards Ceremony) at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. The new nomenclature underscores our focus on character, values, and a holistic approach beyond the academics, vital for success in this modern era. Over 350 awards were distributed, including 56 new “character & learning disposition” awards – designed to recognise our CDAC students who exhibited attributes such as respect, responsibility, resilience, along with creativity and collaboration. The ceremony was a success, and we extend our gratitude to Dr. Koh Poh Koon (Senior Minister of State for Manpower, and Sustainability and the Environment and CDAC Board Member) who graced the occasion with his esteemed presence. We would also like to thank West Spring Secondary School for delivering engaging “Gu Zheng” and modern dance performances during the ceremony.
Major congratulations to our double and triple awardees, especially Liau Zi Hao, a Secondary 2 student from Edgefield Secondary School and Daryl Ng Shi Kai, a Secondary 3 student from Yishun Secondary School. They have demonstrated both character strengths and academic resilience – and are true role models indeed. We wish all our CDAC tuition students all the best in their future endeavours, both in and out of the classroom.
