On 21 June, CDAC and Juying Secondary School collaborated to organize the "Fulfilling Ageing Dumpling Festival" event, bringing together 240 seniors from six CDAC Centres and 77 students from Juying Secondary School. They participated in a Dragonboat race and a series of school activities to promote intergenerational interaction while encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
We were grateful that Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment & Ministry of Transport and CDAC Board Member joined us for the event. Mr Baey joined us at Jurong Lake Gardens for an exciting Dragonboat race and presented medals to our enthusiastic participants!
This event also marked CDAC's first collaboration with Juying Secondary School to organize a Dumpling Festival Event. The seniors were able to experience the warm hospitality of Juying Secondary School first-hand. They engaged in an array of nostalgic games and interactive activities together, such as five stones, marbles, coaster painting, and scrapbook making, fostering a sense of camaraderie among all participants, regardless of age.
CDAC aims to create meaningful interactions between students and seniors through this event. We are grateful to the students of Juying Secondary School for their thoughtful and meticulous planning of the school activities. Our appreciation also goes out to our 13 CDAC volunteers who supported the event wholeheartedly! It was indeed a memorable and enjoyable experience for all participants!
